My message this week is a day early because of the Easter long weekend. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a safe and happy Easter as we all go through these trying times. I would also like to wish the Club a happy birthday as it turns 34 this Saturday – what a great achievement. I invite you to keep up-to date-with our weekly CMCA statements, with the latest (statement 8) released earlier this afternoon. You can view these on our website under Latest News. Earlier in the week, we had an exciting announcement - we are extending all memberships by 6 months. This has been extremely appreciated by the membership. This gives members who have lapsed or resigned in the last three months the opportunity to re-join with a waived joining fee; for just $44 these members will receive 18 months of membership - you really can’t get better or fairer value than that. The board made this decision realising members cannot access member benefits during this time, and they feel it was important to acknowledge the continued support of the membership. I would also like to advise that we have formally approached KTA in regards to lay over/up insurance that currently doesn’t exist in their portfolio of products. This unfortunately will take time to develop, but please be assured we are doing our best to introduce something for the membership. Also, on KTA, I would like to advise that they will no longer cover private motor vehicle insurance as a result of the Hayne Royal Commission recommendation. Under the new General Insurance Code of Practice (GICOP) which came into effect this year, all insurers are required to determine their target market (amongst many other additional compliance requirements). The target market for KTA is recreational vehicles. The Club is exploring alternate options and will advise when more information is available.
Stay safe and happy Easter.
Richard
