CMCA Statement (12) – Coronavirus/COVID-19                                     6 May 2020

We again thank members for their ongoing support of the Club; and acknowledge your continued commitment for doing the right thing – maintaining social distancing and abiding by all varying regulations set down by Federal, State and Territorian Governments. Some states and territories continue to relax certain aspects of the restrictions as a result of the downturn of new COVID-19 cases being recorded; however, we cannot be complacent. 

Once again, we encourage members to consider downloading the COVIDSafe app – with further information available at https://www.health.gov.au/resources/apps-and-tools/covidsafe-app. Whilst nearly 4 million Australians have done so already, the Government would like to see a larger percentage of the Australian population become involved. However, this is your personal decision to make.

 NHQ staff have been busy keeping all the relevant travel and accommodation options up to date on our website so you can stay easily informed. Accommodation options available during these times can be viewed at https://benefits.cmca.net.au/Content/stay and the latest travel advice can be viewed at https://members.cmca.net.au/News/962dc5df7. States and territories are lifting restrictions and allowing certain aspects of travel differently. Apart from viewing information on our website, we encourage you to do additional research via the various Government websites for the latest information available. 

On a brighter note, we are pleased to advise that as of later this week, through our publishers of The Wanderer, Emprise Group, we will be providing several additional digital magazines for your enjoyment. These include Caravan World, Camper Australia, Trade RVs, Trade a Boat and Outdoor – all are highly successful through subscriptions and sales from newsagency shelves. Now, CMCA members will be able to view all magazines, with their specific and general RV related articles, online for FREE. Member benefits like these will continue to be introduced as we try to grow and sustain our Club in these challenging times. 

In May’s The Wanderer and on our website, we feature information on this year’s 2020 Board of Director Election. Two positions are available this year, although one director can seek re-election. If anyone would like to receive a director information pack, please email NHQ at enquiries@cmca.net.au. The returning officer, Michelle Wilson, can be contacted to discuss the process of the election via email at elections.cmca@gmail.com.
