This week Chairman Nelson Crawshaw and I attended the 2024 National General Assembly of Local Government in Canberra. The three-and-a-half-day conference attracted over 600 delegates, mayors, councillors and executive members from across Australia. CMCA received a number of terrific enquiries across the three days from Local Government areas looking to expand their tourism and economic developments. In particular from Victorian councils who expressed plenty of interest as they are now looking at potential RV Friendly Town and CMCA RV Park opportunities, after planning restrictions previously prohibited them.

To develop a CMCA RV Park takes a minimum of two years, and in some cases, can take even longer, and this is because we are adhering to different planning legislation across states and territories.

We see great value in attending State and Local Government Conferences as this helps the club build its government representation.
