I would like to advise members that as of 1 July 2023, there will be an increase of and other changes to CMCA membership fees. This was recently endorsed by the Board of Directors at their February Board meeting. The Board has been very transparent regarding the topic of a fee increase. It was also discussed as part of the constitutional change proposals at the 35th National Rally AGM in Bingara.
For the information of members, the last increase in membership fees, other than the introduction of GST rise in 2000, was in 1998. Many would understand that the overall cost of living and operational costs of the Club have increased over time and had we increased our fees in line with CPI over the last 25 years, our current fees would be in excess of $80.
To ensure we continue providing members with the current level of operations and to grow the Club and its offering of member benefits, the annual fee will increase from $44 per year to $60 for Ordinary Members. Given the difference in rights between Ordinary and Associate Members, Associate membership fees will only rise to $55 per year. The joining fee for new members will increase to $25.
Moving forward, membership fees will increase annually on July 1, at average CPI over the previous year to March (rounded to the nearest dollar). The Board reserves the right to lessen the expected CPI increase should it be seen as excessive.
The Board Page in March’s The Wanderer details this increase and change further. In that article however, I have written that multiple year renewals would cease in a few months as we introduce the option of recurring payments. Unfortunately, due to recent discussions surrounding our IT systems and further development that will be required, I must advise that multiple year memberships will cease immediately. This now-incorrect information will only appear in the printed edition of the magazine. I do apologise for any confusion.

on behalf of the CMCA Board of Directors
