As we reach the end of another week of social distancing and restrictions, members continue to positively respond to the Government’s advice that non-essential travel is not permitted. Not having the ability to travel did not stop the board of directors meeting via Zoom for April’s scheduled board meeting. We have communicated several key outcomes from that meeting in the latest CMCA COVID-19 statement which was published across all communication channels including social media, forum, website and email. As this is a Facebook message, I am sure many of you have had access to the information in that statement.
One of the key outcomes was that the 35th National Rally in Gympie, Qld has been postponed for 12 months. All members who had registered and paid for the event will receive a full refund – our staff have started processing these already. As a result of postponing this event, the Club’s annual general meeting will now be held at a date and venue to be confirmed (we are looking at late November/early December). As per our constitution, we require 200 members to physically attend to ensure we have a quorum for the meeting. We are working on securing options for the AGM and will advise members of further information once confirmed.
