We’d like to address the recent angst from members regarding the slow delivery of The Wanderer. We thought it would be appropriate to explain the process, so members can understand why they may experience a delay in receiving their magazine.
Magazine production finishes in the second week of the month prior- this includes final proofing and editing and signing off on that edition. The file is then sent to the printers, where it can take up to a week to print all magazines. From here, the printed magazines are distributed to the mailing house, where they tend to arrive during the last week of the month. We endeavour to have the printed magazines distributed to Australia Post as close to or on the first day of each month. Australia Post will then undergo their own sorting and posting procedures. Please note that the magazines are distributed in bulk to regions/states, in 500kg containers. Australia Post will delay distribution until a container is full or near full, and these containers also include external mail to make up the 500kg.
Unfortunately, we have no alternative other than using Australia Post. We do apologise for the delay in receiving your magazine; however, as explained above, it is outside our control.
