With many of our members on the road at any one time, as well as other drivers, we cannot stress how important road safety is. NSW, ACT and SA will all enjoy a long weekend, as Monday 7 October is the Labour Day public holiday. We always see an increase of vehicles on the road during these times (especially during school holidays), so I would like to remind members to remain safe. In some states and territories, double demerits are in place during these periods. We always promote, not only to our members, the importance of taking care on our roads. Please ensure you drive to the conditions, do not speed and remember to take a break at least every two hours. If you are on a rural or regional road, please be aware of your surrounds, especially if an over taking lane is approaching. The message remains the same, respect one another, no matter the vehicle travelling in front or behind you.
Safe travelling
Richard
