Our latest RV Friendly Town is Mount Gambier, SA!
Mount Gambier is the major service centre for the Limestone Coast region and has a population of approximately 27, 275. Located halfway between Adelaide and Melbourne, it is renowned for its volcanic landscapes, being home to Blue Lake and its countless craters, caves and beautiful gardens.
RV travellers passing through Mount Gambier, in self-contained vehicles, are welcome to stay at Mount Gambier Showgrounds (please ensure all current interstate travel restrictions are adhered to). The showgrounds offer unpowered sites for $10 per person per night and powered sites for $25 per vehicle per night. Access to showers, toilets and water is available; however, please note that sites are not available during show week – third week of October.
Mount Gambier is home to several wineries, galleries, events and fresh local produce and food. It is only a short drive to the Coonawarra, Wrattonbully and Padthaway wine regions, where you can sample some of the fine local food and wines. The World Heritage Listed Naracoorte Caves also make for a great day trip, as it is only an hour’s drive from Mount Gambier.
