This week, I would like to focus on the opportunity for all members to attend Chapter and SIG events. In each edition of The Wanderer and online on our website, we list the upcoming events. Some chapters and SIGs provide details well ahead of time, which makes for great planning. While we would prefer for most to submit their events at least three months in advance, we understand that this sometimes cannot be done. The social calendar of events is provided so all members can plan their trips and attend any planned monthly outing they wish. Any CMCA member is welcome to attend any event; however, some events may be restricted on numbers depending on the locations. Of the total of 108 Chapters and five Special Interest Groups, we currently have 18 in recess and not operating. They haven’t completely folded; they are just placed on hold until a new executive can be elected. If we have interested members wishing to put their hands up, please advise us here at NHQ and we can facilitate the process.

Apart from the monthly outings, certain Chapters and SIGs stage bigger events such as the Dam Fine Rally, Christmas in July, Tassie and WA State Rallies and the Solos Network Rallies. The next one of these will be the Solos Network Rally held from 29 August to 4 September in Leeman, WA. This is an event not to be missed; everyone is welcome to attend. More information is available in The Wanderer or on the website. Our members volunteer many hours working within the Chapter and SIG network, which is appreciated by many of our members.
