My thoughts and prayers are going out to those who have been affected by the recent inclement weather conditions, especially in northern Western Australia and northern Queensland. Many of the tourism hot spots have been affected, and we cannot forget about those still enduring hardship around northern NSW, the central west of NSW and along the Murray River through Victoria and now South Australia. The flooding in November has had a drastic flow on effect as the water from the Darling River, and Lachlan and Murrumbidgee Rivers, has entered the Murray River catchment, resulting in a huge surge of water heading down through South Australia. There are going to be many towns that are going to need assistance and visitation (tourism) for years to come to recover. Once it is safe to do so, please visit these regions; stop and spend or offer support in volunteering if it is required. Volunteers are a vital cog in any community and some of the affected areas are crying out for assistance. The best way to find out if assistance is needed is by contacting the local Shire Council expressing an interest.
On another note, our CMCA RV Parks in the northern part of Australia including Innisfail, Ingham, Charleville, Batchelor and Humpty Doo still remain closed due to the wet season/off season. All remaining parks are open as usual.
Please take care when travelling; many roads are still affected by severe damage from the rainfall late last year.
Safe travelling
Richard
