Mungindi is uniquely situated on both sides of the NSW and Queensland border and the connecting point of four Shires. Divided by the Barwon river, it is the only border town in the southern hemisphere with the same name in two states.
Mungindi is on the Artesian basin, offering locals and visitors the opportunity to soak in the artesian pool. Allow the soothing, mineral water to rejuvenate your body in tranquil surroundings before heading out for a meal at one of the town's clubs or hotels. The landscape between Moree and Mungindi is starkly beautiful, so your travels around the region will not disappoint. You may encounter all manner of Australian native wildlife so keep your camera handy.
