With the success of the Queensland Local Government Association (LGAQ) conference during the week, I can advise members that our next potential Qld RV Park will be in Dalby (this is of course subject to approval by Council of the development application). CMCA staff inspected the site during the week, meeting with key staff from Western Downs Regional Council to discuss requirements to satisfy the DA. This site is ideally located approximately 400 metres from the CBD and came about when we inspected the site as a part of the National Rally last year. Now we will prepare and submit the DA, and if approved, undertake construction. The park will be conducive to the travels of members especially if they are intending to head west to Charleville.
Back onto the conference, we managed to secure several leads throughout the state for potential RV Parks, Caravan Park management, RVFTs/RVFDs and dump points. Queensland Councils are now more proactive towards developing RV tourism in their state.
On another matter the final of the seven-part series “Are You RV Safe?” airs tomorrow on Channel 10 at 12 noon. If you have missed any of the series, you can watch replays on 10 Play or YouTube. This has been a part of our rvSafe education program and has been very well received.
Safe travelling
Richard
